Craig McCabe oval 4x4 landrover jaguar specialist

Craig McCabe

Craig started with Land Rover straight from school after 1 week work experience previous. He was enrolled into the Land Rover apprenticeship scheme and passed this with flying colours.

After completing his apprenticeship, he started as a service technician and after a few years of gathering experience and completing training courses through the manufacturer he worked his way up to becoming a diagnostic technician and finally a JLR master technician.

Gained over 20 years experience with the Land Rover brand. Latterly Craig has been at the forefront of Electric Vehicles and has a vast experience with Jaguar I-Pace completing multiple courses and gained his live working accreditation where he is authorised to work on live batteries.

Craig enjoys socialising and walking his beloved dog. He enjoys motorcycling and owns a road bike which unfortunately hasn't seen many miles out this year

Scott Taylor oval 4x4 landrover jaguar specialist

Scott Taylor

Started at a Rover garage as a Saturday laddie and when it was time to leave school he was taken on as an apprentice mechanic. After completing his apprentice with Rover, he quickly was made up to Diagnostic technician passing his manufacturers training and then on to Rover 75 Specialist. Scott had a passion for trucks and buses and left Rover to work at Iveco where he gained a vast of experience on heavy repair.

An opportunity came with a Land Rover dealer and Scott started as a service technician and worked his way up to diagnostic technician then moved dealers and made Master Technician.

In 2016 Scott left and moved to Coventry were he worked for Jaguar land Rover UK working as a technical advisor for the UK dealers. He answered emails and calls to assist Jaguar and Land Rover Technicians on more complex repairs. After 6 months he was given a new roll as field technical engineering. This took him away from the desk and covered the whole of the UK where the repair needed a more hands on approach. In 2017 Scott left Jaguar Land Rover UK and headed home to become a Service Manager for a Jaguar land Rover Dealer.

After 2 years he then moved on to Jaguar land Rover Breakdown Manager where he was more hands on with his team and enjoyed this roll until leaving and bringing Oval 4x4 to life.

Scott has a young family and any time away from Land Rover and Jaguars is spent exploring with his son and daughter in the woods close to his home. He likes tinkering with Defenders and has an old 300 TDi which he is slowly restoring time permitting.

Gareth Kingon Rouse oval 4x4 landrover jaguar specialist

Gareth Kingon-Rouse

Gareth, like Craig, started out his working life as a Land Rover apprentice. He completed his apprenticeship with Land Rover and enjoyed a number of years working in the dealer. He moved to the AA and was a yellow van man then he was made up to Silver where he attended broken down Jaguar and Land Rovers. Gareth served with the AA for over 10 years. Due to family commitments, Gareth left the AA and started back at a Land Rover dealer where he prepared and repaired new and used vehicles for sale until moving to Oval 4x4.

Gareth is involved with the Scout movement and has a great deal of commitments with this. He also has a growing family and enjoys watching his son play rugby and supporting his daughter's ballet. Undoubtedly the busiest member of Oval 4x4 outside work.
